Kori Allen, CFP®
Let’s be honest: without Kori, there is no Pearl Wealth. She is your primary investment adviser and our fearless leader. She is coach and counselor to every client and she can name many who have become dear friends over the years. In short, she’s the head honcho, the big cheese, the top dog (no offense, Tchai).
Kori credits much of her success to her fashionable and beloved grandmother who coached her at an early age to sew. The hobby gave Kori a comfortable proficiency in math, while fostering her creativity and love for art. Her math skills continued to support her through college, where she pursued a political science degree and worked part-time in a bank. After graduation she served two legislators in Oregon, then moved to California in search of a financial career with a fashion or design company. Job hunting was difficult in the early 1980s, but a job on the Pacific Coast Options Floor was intriguing...and available. It called for a college degree and a proficiency in fractions (thanks, Grandma).
One of her clients on the floor was Charles Schwab & Co. and Kori went to work for them in 1988. There, she became a licensed broker, working on and managing a Schwab 500 team (now known as Schwab Platinum). She enjoyed building deep relationships with her clients and employees, and earned many Excellence in Service Awards. In 1995 she moved from San Francisco back home to Portland, Oregon to be near family, and continued her work at Schwab from the Portland branch. In 1997, she got the itch to align herself with clients in a more personable fashion, and transitioned her career to investment advising.
Since 1997, Kori has worked as an adviser and partner with three firms. She earned her certificate in financial planning in 2006. She enjoys the opportunity to get to know clients on a deeper level and craft a financial and investment plan reflective of their values and temperament.
Kori remains civic-minded and active. She serves as a trustee for The Library Foundation and currently serves as their Treasurer and on their investment committee; she’s a board member for The Nick Wilson Charitable Group; and serves on the Portland State University Foundation investment committee.
You may see her walking her labradoodle, Tchai, riding her Vespa, or learning to dance. She’s also a perennial soccer mom and enjoys travel to Europe to watch her daughter play on the international stage.
